“One Choice Away
We’re all one choice away from heading in the right direction. One choice away from falling from the course that is good and true. One choice away from hardening our layers of harshness, anger, disappointment, sorrow, false happiness, withdrawal, food, addiction. . . . The list is endless. We’re also one choice away from removing those layers bit by bit and easing their tight hold on us.
We decide our direction, one choice at a time.
Think about it: at any point in your life’s journey, you’re one choice away from heading in the right direction. Throughout our day we’re offered choices—look for them; they are there. And every time we choose, we can decide to head the right direction, peeling back one of those layers a little bit more to reveal our real selves. Or we can decide to recede into the layers and shield ourselves away from authentic relationships with our loved ones and, most importantly, with God. . . .
[We’re] one choice away from heading in the right direction.
